A native of Southern California, Mike graduated first in his class from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986. He served as a cavalry officer in the U.S. Army before graduating from Harvard Law School. From 2011-2017, he represented the Fourth District of Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives.
