Stuart Cary Welch, who conceived and organised the exhibition and is the author of the catalogue, is Special Consultant in Charge, Department of Islamic Art, at the Metropolitan Museum and Curator of Islamic and Later Indian Art at the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University.
