Author Description

Shakil Durrani joined the Pakistan Administrative Service in 1971 and served in various posts in different capacities. He spent many years in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) as Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner and was Political Agent in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He has held such senior positions as the Additional Chief Secretary (Development), NWFP and Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Sindh. Following a stint in Islamabad, he served as Chairman, Pakistan Railways and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). He is presently, Executive Director, Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology.
