Vanguard Books was set up as publishing and bookselling house in 1978 by Najam Sethi. Since then it has published over 400 titles, mostly in English. It specializes in publishing academic books on Pakistan and the South Asian region, including Afghanistan. We publish original books as well as reprints of books first published outside Pakistan.

Vanguard Books is also a big importer and distributor of books from the USA, UK and India. Indeed, we are the oldest and biggest Pakistani distributor of books from India. Our range of imports is wide and varied, encompassing academic books on all social science and scientific and technical subjects as well as fiction and literature. We also specialize in importing and distributing academic books on Islam. 

We are exclusive importers/distributors of computer books from BPB/TECHMEDIA, New Delhi and books on politics and area studies from Zed Press and I B Tauris, UK.
